The Chinese foreign ministry said on Thursday that a meeting between Foreign Minister Wang Yi and his Japanese colleague on the sidelines of ASEAN activities in Cambodia had been canceled.

The Chinese side is very dissatisfied with the Group of Seven countries’ joint statement on Taiwan, according to Hua Chunying, the ministry’s spokeswoman, at a regular media briefing.

G7 foreign ministers, including Japan’s, urged China on Wednesday to address tensions in the Taiwan Strait peacefully.
