According to statistics supplied by the network regulator, Germany’s gas reserves have decreased marginally, indicating that the nation is failing to meet the required storage levels for winter.

The Bundesnetzagentur announced on Thursday that Germany’s most recent total gas storage level was 64.5 percent, down from 64.6 percent recorded on Wednesday.

“At present, gas is being withdrawn from storage partly as a result of market conditions,” the agency stated in its daily status report, adding that this meant less reserves for a future gas shortfall.
