According to the State Emergency Service, a Russian shell burst into a two-story building in the eastern Ukrainian town of Toretsk on Monday, killing six people who were hiding inside.
According to Facebook, rescuers discovered five dead in the debris and rescued three people alive, however one died later in the hospital.
“The town of Toretsk was under fire today from early in this morning. A two-storey building sheltering people was destroyed as a shell slammed into it,” the State Emergency Service said.
It shared photos of rescue personnel sifting through wreckage and what was left of the destroyed building on its Facebook page, and said the hunt for survivors had been called off.
