On Friday, US Trade Representative Katherine Tai said that she would continue to express US concerns with Mexican counterparts about Mexico’s state-centered energy policy and will evaluate all alternatives to address those issues.

After meeting with Canadian and Mexican trade officials, Tai told reporters that the worries are shared by US politicians, conventional energy firms, new energy companies, and environmental organizations.

“I have made very clear that all options are on the table and that we will continue to explore those options,” Tai said when asked whether she would seek formal discussions with Mexico as a breach of the trade agreement between the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
